Union of British Columbia Indian Chiefs was founded in 1969 to fight Canada’s White Paper and to defend Indigenous Title, Rights & Treaty Rights.

Fraser Thompson Indian Services Society (FTISS) is a not for profit organization administering and delivering health services and cultural programs for the communities of Spuzzum, Boston Bar, Boothroyd and Oregon Jack Creek.
These four communities belong to the Nlaka’pamux Nation Tribal Council.

First Nations Education Steering Committee (FNESC) works at the provincial level to provide services in the areas of research, communications, information dissemination, advocacy, program administration and networking.

The Assembly of First Nations (AFN) is a national advocacy organization representing First Nation citizens in Canada, which includes more than 900,000 people living in 634 First Nation communities and in cities and towns across the country.

First Nations Emergency Services Society (FNESS) serves First Nations in developing and sustaining safer and healthier communities through:

  • Emergency planning, training, response, and recovery;
  • Fire training, education, and prevention;
  • Forest fuel and wildfire Management; and
  • Leadership and collaborative relationships.

The First Nations Health Council is a provincial-level political and advocacy organization that is representative and accountable to BC First Nations, with the following mandate:

  • Dedicated political leadership for the implementation of Health Plans.
  • Support to First Nations in achieving their health priorities and objectives.
  • Health Advocacy and Relationships.
  • Politically oversee the transition of FNIH to the new First Nations Health Authority.
  • Promote and ensure communications, transparency, cost effectiveness and accountability of the FNHC to First Nations.
  • Leadership and collaborative relationships.

First Nations Wild Salmon Alliance
As Indigenous Peoples we have the inherent obligation and duty to defend and protect the well-being of our communities through the protection and conservation of wild salmon within our territories. We welcome other First Nations to support this Declaration if they so choose.
